Our Doctors
Dr. Paula Joseph Hasson
Dr. Hasson graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. She has over 30 years of experience as a practicing dentist.
She owned a practice in downtown New Castle for 18 years before moving to Maine with her husband, David, and two sons. While in Maine, she worked at a thriving 3-doctor practice specializing in cosmetic and preventative dentistry. She spent over 11 years in Maine returning to her native Lawrence County in 2018.. Dr. Hasson is thrilled to utilize all the knowledge she has gained to give patients the best of care and a beautiful, healthy smile.
Dr. Hasson is certified in Botox for treating TMJ and Migraines and for cosmetic use. She practices with high integrity, honesty, and compassion and strives for clinical excellence.
Affiliations for Dr. Hasson include being a member of the American Dental Association, International Academy of Facial Aesthetics, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Lawrence County Dental Society. She is on the Board of Directors of the New Castle Christian Academy and is a part-time clinical instructor in the Dental Hygiene Department at Youngstown State University.
Dr. Cailen Blaire
Dr. Cailen Blaire is a dedicated and compassionate dentist with a passion for creating and maintaining healthy smiles. She left her hometown of Hermitage, Pennsylvania to attend Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina, where she was a member of the track and field team and graduated with a degree in biology. After enjoying the Carolina weather, Dr. Blaire moved back north and earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Blaire believes in taking a personalized approach to patient care, ensuring that each patient’s concerns and goals are understood before she develops their custom treatment plans. Whether it is a routine cleaning, complex restorative procedure, or emergency dental care, Dr. Blaire is always dedicated to providing the highest quality of care in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
Education is of the utmost importance to Dr. Blaire, as she strives to constantly continue her dental education and stay up to date on the best techniques and most current information in the field. Dr. Blaire also emphasizes patient education and stresses the importance of preventative maintenance to each of her patients.
When she is not in the office, Dr. Blaire enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, and making memories with her family, including her devoted husband and their two sweet rescue dogs

Janice - Office Manager
Janice’s dental career began and will end with Joseph Family Dental. With no dental experience, Janice started with an entry-level position with Dr. Paula Joseph Hasson in 2006. After she moved to Portland, Maine, Janice took a dental office manager position in Hopewell, PA, and remained there for ten years. Janice continued to work remotely for dental offices until July 3, 2023. Her dental career came full circle, back to Joseph Family Dental in July of 2023. Being back with this practice and family is truly an honor and privilege.

Sam - Dental Hygienist
Sam graduated from Laurel High School. After graduation, she attended Youngstown State University, where she earned her degree in Dental Hygiene. Sam joined in the Fall of 2021. Outside of work, Sam’s two boys and dogs keep her busy.
Shelby - Dental Hygienist
Shelby grew up in West Middlesex, PA, and graduated from Youngstown State University’s Dental Hygiene program in 2016. She joined our team in the Fall of 2022. Shelby has been practicing dental hygiene for eight years. Shelby loves getting to know her patients and helping them feel comfortable and at ease when receiving dental care. Outside of work, you will find Shelby outside or spending time with her family.

Debbie - Dental Assistant
Debbie has been a dental assistant for 48 years and has worked in this office for 25 years. She enjoys antique shopping and cheering on her seven grandchildren at their sporting events.
Renee - Dental Assistant
Renee is a native of Louisiana, where she attended LSU School of Dentistry. She lived in San Diego, CA, and worked as a Registered Dental Assistant. Renee is our Expanded Function Dental Assistant with over 35 years of experience. She joined our team in the Spring of 2020.
Renee loves to travel and spend time with her daughter and two grandchildren.
Paula - Dental Assistant
Paula has been a dental assistant for many, many, years. She has been a part of our team since 2021.In her free time, she enjoys cooking, baking, reading and having fun with her dogs.
